The earth is the fifth largest planet in the solar system and is the third planet from the sun. It appears bright and bluish when looked at from outer space. The earth is the only planet in the solar system that supports life. Earths diameter is, 12,756 km. The surface on earth is: 70% water, air and solid ground. Earth is the only planet that has water. The earth rotates around the sun in 365.2 days.

The distance from earth to the sun is 149.6 million km. Earth has one moon called Luna. Earth has no rings and has one satellite. Scientists believe that the earth is about 4.5 billion years old. Although the features of the land seem solid and hard there is some evidence that the earth’s surface has changed heaps since it was originally formed. Even now the earth is continuing to change.
